Associate Professor Brian Yecies is a recognized leader in the scholarly field of cultural and creative industries. New agendas in the field have been initiated through his long-standing investigations on the complex social, cultural, technological, political, and industrial impacts of communications and screen and digital media. He has a record of leading cross-disciplinary research teams and projects that emphasize the innovative application of digital research methods to the study of popular culture and new technologies.


Professor Jianming Yong is a full Professor in the discipline of information systems, School of Business, University of Southern Queensland, Australia. His research interests include cloud computing and cyber security. He has edited 14 journal issues/research books/conference proceedings; published over 140 refereed research papers including many journal papers in top ICT outlets, which have a significant impact on ICT research and development over cyber security and cloud computing.
Professor Jun Shen is an active researcher in multi-disciplines where computational intelligence, cloud and IoT, and data science, as well as general IS methodologies, are applied to solving real life problems. He has been engaged in many funded projects (supported by ARC/CRC, NSFC, UGPN, etc) and/or PhD level research topics ranging from AI in education, bioinformatics, intelligent transport, digital health and aged care, to humanistic applications such as arts, human resources, supply chain, media and regional communities.


Dr Mehrdad Amirghasemi has a PhD in Operations Research and is currently a Lecturer in Business Analytics at the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Wollongong (UOW). His main research area is the design and analysis of (parallel) evolutionary and quantum-ready metaheuristic analytics methods, along with the application of these in multiple areas, such as network design, logistics, and operations research.
Dr Jo Law is currently the Head of School of the Arts, English and Media, in the Faculty of the Arts, Social Science. Her research investigates how the textual imprints of media and materials in artworks shape human experience. Her current research projects focus on the collaboration between scientific and creative disciplines to examine how art and technologies shape the ways we make sense of our world in creating our futures.


Dr Dongming Xu is an Associate Professor of Information Systems (IS) at the UQ Business School, The University of Queensland. Her research focuses on how Information Systems are designed, used, and influence society, and more specifically, she works in IT innovation design and uses in areas of digital transformation and business intelligence. She attracted multiple national-level research grants, including ARC, HKRGC, and NSFC, to support her research and published more than a hundred papers in major IS journals and conferences.
Dr Agnieszka Golda is a Senior Lecturer in Contemporary Arts and the Discipline Leader of Visual Arts at the School of the Arts, English and Media. She is an artist-researcher who explores the intersection of art, feeling and place in ecological and socio-cultural contexts. Golda’s textile, painting and object-based works and large-scale installation projects draw from her field studies in Australia, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Japan and Poland, personal experiences of migration and making on and with Country, as well as studies in anthropology, archaeology, ethnography, environmental studies, and cultural geography.


Dr Grant Ellmers’ research and expertise is positioned within the creative industries, specifically graphic and visual communication design, and photography. This research has 2 primary components: practice-led and practice-based. Ellmers’ research can be described as translational research due to the interdisciplinary nature, which seeks to bridge the gap between research and the world of practice.
Dr Ivy Zhou received her Ph.D. from Macquarie University in 2018. Before pursuing her study in Australia, she completed an M.Phil. degree in real estate finance from University of Cambridge with a distinction grade on her thesis, and a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics & Business with first-class Honours from Edinburgh University. Her current research lies predominately in market microstructure, derivatives markets, cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets.
